Reflexive Verbs and Pronouns

Reflexive pronouns are used with reflexive verbs to indicate that the subject performs and receives the action.

  1. The personal pronoun is omitted when we use reflexive pronouns.
  2. The reflexive pronoun in Spanish is conjugated.
  3. If the verb is reflexive, we add the ending "-se" to the infinitive.
  4. With conjugated verb forms we place it in front of these forms, for example "me lavo".

Exceptions!

  1. The pronoun "se" is the same for the third person singular and plural.
