The preterite tense describes actions that are completed in the past. Some verbs are irregular and have changes in their stem or in their conjugation.

- The endings of irregular verbs are: "-e, -iste, -o, -imos, -isteis, -ieron".
- The verbs "ser" and "ir" are conjugated the same.
- Irregular verbs in the past simple do not have an accent in any of their forms.

Exceptions!
- If the root ends in "-j", the ending for the pronoun "ustedes" is "-eron". Example: "Traducir" => "Ellos tradujeron".
- There are irregular verbs both in their stem and ending. Example: "Dar" => "Yo di".
