Las largas comidas y la socialización en los bares, algo muy común en España, contrastan con sus estilos de vida rápidos. Comparan las normas sociales, más abiertas y espontáneas. El pintor Juan Antonio las invita a viajar a Oviedo. Él se volverá en el amante de las dos. Todo esto forma parte de su proceso de adaptación. Allí, experimentan un ambiente más tradicional y otro más moderno en Barcelona. A pesar de las diferencias, comienzan a adaptarse y a valorar esta nueva rutina de vida.

In "Vicky Cristina Barcelona", Vicky and Cristina experience a cultural change upon arriving in Spain. The pace of life is much more relaxed than in the United States. The long meals and socializing in bars, something very common in Spain, contrast with their fast-paced lifestyles. They compare social norms, which are more open and spontaneous. The painter Juan Antonio invites them to travel to Oviedo. He will become the lover of both. All this is part of their adaptation process. There, they experience a more traditional atmosphere and a more modern one in Barcelona. Despite the differences, they begin to adapt and value this new routine of life.
