Reading and listening exercise

Translation

Imagine the brain as a forest full of trees. These trees are called neurons and the doctor who best knew this forest was Ramón y Cajal. Each tree has its function. Those for seeing are the ones belonging to the ophthalmologist, others help to move, hence they are the trees of the physiotherapist. Doctors are the gardeners who take care of the forest. This is how Ramón y Cajal describes the brain. His designs of the nervous system remain important for modern doctors. He was a specialist of the 19th century and won the Nobel Prize in 1906 for his studies. His father was a surgeon and thanks to him, he entered medicine. Thanks to his studies, the diseases of Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s were understood.
