La obra "La Venus del Espejo" fue pintada por Diego Velázquez en el siglo XVII. La figura de Venus se muestra de espaldas con el cuello y los hombros relajados. Su cintura y su barriga están suavemente definidas destacando la belleza natural. Su codo izquierdo está ligeramente doblado apoyando su cuerpo sobre la cama. El corazón de la obra está en la mirada que Venus lanza a través del espejo. Sus músculos no se ven marcados pero se percibe su delicada fuerza. Los detalles de su pecho son un símbolo de la feminidad y la perfección clásica. La pintura fue robada en el siglo XIX pero fue recuperada por la policía. Hoy "La Venus del Espejo" puede ser vista en la National Gallery de Londres.
Translation
The work "The Rokeby Venus" was painted by Diego Velázquez in the 17th century. The figure of Venus is shown from behind with her neck and shoulders relaxed. Her waist and her stomach are softly defined, highlighting natural beauty. Her left elbow is slightly bent, supporting her body on the bed. The heart of the piece is in the gaze Venus directs through the mirror. Her muscles are not visibly defined but her delicate strength is perceived. The details of her chest are a symbol of femininity and classical perfection. The painting was stolen in the 19th century but was recovered by the police. Today, "The Rokeby Venus" can be seen at the National Gallery in London.
