El clavel es la flor nacional de España. Los ramos de claveles que se usan en las fiestas son de colores brillantes como el rojo. Algunas personas también los plantan en sus jardines. En Andalucía, se puede ver floreros con claveles en los balcones. Otras personas, como las bailarinas del flamenco, también llevan claveles en el pelo como parte de su decoración. En el pasado, los toreros llevan claveles en su ropa. En casi todas las floristerías se pueden comprar claveles.

Translation

The carnation is the national flower of Spain. The bouquets of carnations used in parties are in bright colours like red. Some people also plant them in their gardens. In Andalusia, one can see vases with carnations on balconies. Other people, such as flamenco dancers, also wear carnations in their hair as part of their decoration. In the past, bullfighters wore carnations on their clothing. In almost all flower shops you can buy carnations.
